Maxed Champion's Leather Bracers equipments increases damage when Liu Kang is on Fire.
His own Brutality set: Champion's Nunchaku equipment from his Brutality set makes Liu Kang apply Fire on basic attacks, stacking his Dragon Fire very fast.
Specter's Burning Vengeance equipment can apply Fire on every special moves and has chance to apply Fire if hit. Blaze's Life Force and Specter's Infernal Chains equipments increase Fire damage Liu Kang deals. Blaze's Life Force starts match with opponent on Fire, giving Liu Kang a Dragon Fire.
Blaze's Life Force & Scorpion's Brutality set: These equipments make Liu Kang's Fire deal more damage and inflict Fire DOT easily.
Scorpion/Hellspawn & Kung Jin/Shaolin: Liu Kang can start match with extra power with these characters, makes it easier to do special attacks and apply Fire to opponents.
Triborg/Sektor: Liu Kang receives Fire damage boost from Triborg.
Having a card that "counters" Liu Kang does not mean it is always a good choice. Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Liu Kang.
